Food & Wine

At Green Rides, the food and meals we prepare for our clients are our top priority. Conor and Fay both come from foodie backgrounds and make sure every step of the process, from buying the right ingredients, to sourcing local produce, to keeping the presentation of the food perfect are kept to an excellent standard.

We know that cycling, especially in mountainous regions requires protein and carbohydrate rich food in order to keep our clients energy levels at a maximum. Days spent climbing high altitude cols in summer heat takes it’s tole on the human body. Our fine cuisine will give you the necessary energy intake you need whilst combining gourmet and fusion cooking to an excellent standard.

Fresh local breads, pastries and jams and excellent coffee prepare you for your day on the mountain and a mid week cooked breakfast will keep you humming throughout the day.

Fay is our dedicated cake expert and makes sure all our staff bake off exquisite cakes every day for when you return from the mountain. Banana, apple & cinnamon and carrot are some of her favorite options. Refueling in front of the fire with a pot of tea could be the order of the day afterwards or if it’s been a particularly trying day, perhaps a Gin & Tonic! Or an ice cold beer

The evening dinner is when our chefs will charm you with a selection of fusion cooking, including many dishes with twists of French, English and Spanish cuisine. Dishes such as sweet Italian broth and Beaufort cheese and onion marmalade ceeshe with garlic new potatoes and beetroot salad will wet your appetites. The fondue & raclette night at Monperron is a chance to try your hand at a little Savoie fare!

This being France, the wine is of course of special importance, and we make sure we stock only the local Savoie favorites. We buy our wine through a local cellier who buys straight from the growers out towards Chambery. Rich local Gammay’s and sharp subtle whites will accompany every meal you enjoy with us.

When visiting other parts of the Alps, we make sure our Chambre d’hotes and hotels come highly recommended and that all are of a high standard.

We can of course cater for all dietary requirements and make sure all our chefs are very experienced in these areas of cuisine.
