La Rosière is, to use the cliché, renowned for its chocolate box appeal due to the immense level of charm that the resort oozes. It comes as no surprise that it is has emerged as one of the leading up-and-coming Alpine resorts for all the right reasons.
Situated at an altitude of 1850m, the town is blessed with heavy snowfall during the skiing season so you can expect perfect skiing conditions that are long-lasting. The south facing location and the close proximity to Mont Blanc, bathes the resort in plenty of pleasant sunshine even during the heart of winter.
If you’ve never visited before or had the opportunity to ski the amazing slopes at La Rosiere, you are in for a real treat! Large open pistes and an amazing network of lifts make it an ideal area to discover. Slightly further afield, towards the Col-Du-Petit-St-Bernard, you will reach the Aosta Valley resort village of La Thuile that is just across the border in neighbouring Italy where you can extend your skiable terrain by up to 200%. Both resorts are situated within the huge San Bernardo ski area which covers a region of unspoilt national park that offer a vista of spectacular views.
La Rosière has all the restaurants, bars, shops and south facing cafés you could ever want. Excellent après ski can be experienced throughout the resort, at delightful hostelries such as Bar 1850 – but, if you are into wild nights out and in the mood to party – try sampling the live music at Le Comptoir that is open throughout the week.
The satellite village of Les Eucherts, just 15-minutes walk, or a Snow Shuttle ride, from La Rosière, offers direct access to the piste from Les Eucherts telesiege but also boasts an ice rink, bowling alley, spa, shops, bars and great restaurants.
If you are adventurous you can always sample an alternative mountain sport such as ski biking, speed flying and heli-boarding. These are easily accessible nearby at the Italian border on the Col-du-Petit St- Bernard. Off the piste the excitement continues with masses of fun things to do such as tango lessons, yoga, snow-shoeing, wildlife spotting and other activities. If you prefer to spend your spare time on more leisurely pursuits, simply passing the time of day at one of the many cafes may provide all the enjoyment you need.
