What can one say about Val d’isère that hasn’t been said before? For good reasons it is one of the world’s best known and most popular winter resorts. If you enjoy skiing or winter sports in general this is the resort you must visit at least once in your lifetime. The town is, by tradition, baroque; offering timeless charm with total functionality that has adapted to the modern world. Val d’Isère exudes boundless energy that encompasses state of the art facilities from the leisure centres, independent spas, karting centres and ice polo fields to arguably Frances’s finest skiing, and serious après ski possibilities.
The resort sits at an altitude of 2000m and has a flawless snow record. The season starts early, running from the first week of December until the first week of May and the snow remains excellent for the duration, albeit, the snow is different, for example in the spring between April and May.
The ski lift infrastructure is unbeatable, offering skiing at every possible reach of the mountains surrounding the town. You’ll find safe runs for those with professional Olympic ability down to total beginners. The highest ski station sits at 3456m and from here 300km of piste await the avid skier with access to an incredible total of 94 lift systems. What more can you ask for?
Once you can lure yourself from the mountain, you’ll discover how the resort exposes its true colours. The chic night life in Val d’Isère is world class. Bars, clubs and restaurants that suit all moods add to the exuberant ambience of the town and surrounding area. There are numerous excellent bars, clubs and diners right on the mountain, among them the Folie Douce is perhaps the best known.
There is never any shortage of things to do in Val d’Isère. We look forward to seeing you on the hill, or at the bar, in the café, or on the dance floor.
